Altia acquires wine and spirits portfolio from Pernod Ricard

Gernandt & Danielsson assists Pernod Ricard when Altia acquires wine and spirits portfolio from Pernod Ricard.

Pernod Ricard sells a portfolio of wine brands such as Blossa glögg and Chill Out and well know classical Swedish and Danish spirits brands such as O.P. Anderson, Skåne Akvavit, Svenska Nubbar and Explorer to the Finnish wine and spirits group Altia. Altia is state owned. Through the transaction, Altia will acquire the brands as well as production and logistics centers in Sweden and Denmark for a consideration of SEK 835 million.

The deal will increase Altia’s net sales with approximately EUR 85 million and the number of employees with approximately 280. The deal will make Altia the leading player in the Nordic alcoholic beverages business. At the same time the transaction will benefit Pernod Ricard’s focus on strategic brands. The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals.
