Gernandt & Danielsson was founded in 1992 when Johan Gernandt, Karl-Erik Danielsson and four other lawyers left one of the largest law firms at the time in Sweden to start a firm of their own.
In the beginning, Gernandt & Danielsson was a small firm. With 13 lawyers, we were approximately one-tenth the size of the largest Swedish law firms. However, from the very start, our clients were the big companies. Gernandt & Danielsson became known as the small firm handling the big deals. Our primary competitive advantage was, and continues to be, high quality. Our best advertisement was, and continues to be, satisfied clients.
Gernandt & Danielsson is still a firm with big clients and deals. However, we are no longer a small firm. The number of lawyers has grown from 13 to approximately 80. Today we have approximately 110 employees. The growth has been organic. Despite being approached over the years, Gernandt & Danielsson has declined to merge with other firms. Through continuous, yet controlled, organic expansion, we have succeeded in maintaining the highest quality in our services and the original corporate culture, characterised by cooperation and team spirit focusing on the best interests of our clients.
