History and values

Gernandt & Danielsson was founded in 1992 when a group of partners and their colleagues decided to leave what was then one of the largest law firms in Sweden, in order to establish a firm of their own. The new firm was relatively small but worked on large, complex, and often international matters from the start. The client base was mainly in the financial sector.

Our clients and matters are still large, but we are no longer a small firm. Our office in central Stockholm is the workplace for approximately 140 employees, 80 of whom are lawyers. Since the beginning, our corporate culture has been characterised by high quality and a strong client focus. We have succeeded in maintaining and developing this by expanding through a conscious policy of organic growth combined with strategic recruitments to senior positions.

It is against this background that we have articulated our vision: to be the most highly respected and sought-after business law adviser and employer in Sweden.
