Modern Times Group MTG AB (publ) announced on 2 July 2021 that it had entered into an agreement to acquire all shares in the games developer PlaySimple for an upfront consideration consisting of cash and class B shares in MTG corresponding to approximately SEK 3,090 million (on a cash and debt free basis) as well as earn-out payments of an expected amount corresponding to SEK 1,287 million in aggregate.

Founded in 2014, PlaySimple is an India-based developer and publisher of mobile word games with over 200 employees.
