Counsel Andreas Ek new chairman of the Marie-Claire Cronstedt foundation

The board of the Marie-Claire Cronstedt foundation has appointed counsel Andreas Ek as its new chairman as of 15 April 2026.

The Marie-Claire Cronstedt foundation was established in 1989 by Countess Marie-Claire Cronstedt (1914–2004), daughter of Consul General Axel Ax:son Johnson and his wife Margaret Ax:son Johnson. The foundation’s primary purpose is to promote scientific research in Sweden in the fields of ecology, wildlife conservation and the management of natural resources, as well as to support teaching and education in these fields. Since 2020, the foundation also awards the Marie-Claire Cronstedt Prize for outstanding contributions at national level in the fields of ecology, wildlife conservation, animal welfare or the management of natural resources, aimed at preserving and promoting good living conditions for plants and animals. Furthermore, since 2024, the foundation has funded a professorship in animal welfare for farm animals at Linnaeus University.
